💻

Installation

How to install and use your fonts on any operating system.

3 questions
On a PC Double-click on the OTF or TTF file, then click "Install". The font will be available in all your applications immediately.
On a Mac

Double-click on the OTF or TTF file, then click "Install Font".

Alternatively, you can manually install fonts via Fontbook: Copy the font file(s) using CMD + C, then Paste (CMD + V) the files into the folder: HD → Library → Fonts

Important Restart the program where you intend to use the font after installation. The font will then appear in your font list when you open the program again.

Depending on your license, the download may include OTF, TTF, WOFF, and WOFF2 formats. Corporate licenses always include all four formats to cover desktop, web, and app development environments.

OTF and TTF are for desktop use (design applications, word processors). WOFF and WOFF2 are optimized for web embedding via CSS.

Step 1: Completely close and reopen your application — fonts installed while the app is running won't appear until restart.

Step 2: If the font still doesn't show, verify the installation was successful. On Mac, open Fontbook and check the font is listed. On PC, check Control Panel → Fonts.

Step 3: If the issue persists, contact us at hello@twinletter.com and we will assist you directly.

Software Compatibility

Which applications work with Twinletter fonts and how to access special features.

2 questions

Once a font is installed on your computer, it works with any program that allows you to create text. This includes Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Adobe software (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), Figma, Canva, and virtually any other application with a text editor.

For OTF special features (ligatures, alternate characters, stylistic sets), you will need an application that supports OpenType features — such as Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, or Affinity Publisher.

We recommend checking whether your software supports OpenType features before purchasing a commercial version — especially if you need access to ligatures or alternate characters.

In Adobe Illustrator: Go to Text → Glyphs to see the full character set of the font. Adobe Illustrator CC 2019 and later also offers a Glyph Snapping feature via Type → Panels → Glyphs panel → Window → Glyphs.

For other applications: Check your application's character map. Most apps with OpenType support will display a glyph panel or character map — even Microsoft Word supports basic alternate character access.

For Adobe software, you can check the full glyph panel guide here on Adobe's website →

License

Understand what you can and cannot do with your font license.

6 questions

Twinletter offers six license types: Desktop, Professional, Extended, Game/Server, Broadcast, and Corporate. Each is designed for a specific scope of use.

You can review the full breakdown of each license — including what's covered and what's not — on our License page. For businesses that need complete coverage across their entire organization, teams, and sub-brands, the Corporate License is the appropriate choice.

No. You are not allowed to share font files directly with your clients. If your client needs the font, they must purchase or download their own license independently.

You may use the font to create and deliver final design files (logos, layouts, PDFs with embedded fonts), but the raw font files themselves cannot be transferred. If your client needs ongoing access — for example, to edit source files — they must obtain their own license.

For companies that regularly work with agencies on their behalf, the Corporate License covers both in-house teams and external agency partners under one agreement.

Yes — you can use fonts to create physical or digital products with the font incorporated as design (e.g. packaging, merchandise, branded materials), up to the sales volume limit permitted by your license tier.

The Desktop license allows up to 5,000 sales/prints/pieces. The Professional license extends this to 100,000. The Extended License removes the sales cap entirely and allows unlimited prints and sales. If your volume is high or your business is growing, the Extended or Corporate License is the right choice.

Review the full license comparison on our License page.

You may use fonts to create visual elements within templates (e.g. logos, headings, flattened graphics displayed as images). However, you are not permitted to embed the actual font files within a template that you distribute or sell to others.

This means: if someone downloads your template and needs to edit the text, they must have their own license for the font. You may not include font files in the template package. You are free to convert text to outlines or graphic objects — as long as you don't include every individual character of the typeface in a recoverable form.

Yes — you can use fonts on web pages if you purchase a Webfont License. The Webfont License allows you to use @font-face CSS to embed the font on one domain.

If you need to use the font across more than one domain, you will need to purchase an additional Webfont License for each domain, or upgrade to a license tier that covers multiple or unlimited websites.

The Corporate License covers unlimited websites and web properties with no visitor cap — ideal for companies with multiple digital touchpoints. Learn more →

No. You are not allowed to share, redistribute, or make Twinletter font files available for download on any website, blog, platform, or file-sharing service — including cloud storage links, social media, or design communities.

Each person who wants to use a Twinletter font must obtain their own license directly from this store. Unauthorized redistribution is a copyright violation and is actively enforced by Twinletter in partnership with PDHI and MHN Law Firm.

If you have inadvertently shared font files, we encourage you to remove them and contact us proactively — we handle such situations with professionalism and goodwill.
